Chenez’s Gourmet Popcorn is a locally family owned small business with a year-round retail shop in Lockport and a seasonal location in Olcott.

Positions Available

Lead (Lockport-Based) – $18/hour

This role requires someone who can take ownership of the shop, make decisions, and lead without constant direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations
  • Work in production of product
  • Help train and guide team members
  • Solve problems as they arise
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day workflow
  • Occasionally support Olcott when needed
Ideal Candidate:
  • Highly reliable
  • Strong work ethic
  • Comfortable leading others
  • Can operate independently without constant direction

Team Members – $16/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Customer service and sales
  • Bagging, labeling, and stocking popcorn
  • Cleaning and maintaining the shop
  • Opening and closing duties
Olcott Location:
  • Many shifts are run independently
  • Simple operations: sell, restock, clean, close

Flex / Float (High-Trust Role) – $17/hour

This role does not have a fixed schedule. Hours will vary based on business needs, call-offs, and busy days.

This is a key support role in our system.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer service and sales
  • Cover call-offs and busy days
  • Must work a minimum of 16 hours per week
  • Support whichever location needs help most
Ideal Candidate:
  • Extremely dependable
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Comfortable stepping into different situations
  • Takes initiative without being told what to do

Schedule Overview

We use a structured scheduling system. Applicants must be able to commit to consistent weekly availability.

Olcott (Summer Schedule: June–August)

  • Sunday–Thursday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday–Saturday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Friday & Saturday shifts may be:
  • Full shift (12–8)
  • OR split shifts (12–4 / 4–8)
Friday & Saturday shifts may be:
  • Employees have set days (ownership)
  • Weekends are rotated, not assigned every week

Olcott (May, September, October)

  • Open weekends only
  • Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Rotating schedule

Lockport

  • Main operational location
  • Lead + support staff scheduled consistently
  • More structured and steady environment
  • Open 10am-6 pm (7pm summer hours)

  • Frequently call off and show up late
  • Want random or changing hours
  • Prefer to be told what to do at all times

Requirements

  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability for some evenings and weekends
  • Dependable and consistent attendance
